Do you charge extra for evenings and weekends?

What causes blocked drains?

The most common causes are fats, oils, and grease building up in kitchen drains, wet wipes and sanitary products flushed down toilets, hair and soap scum in bathroom drains, leaves and debris blocking external drains, and tree roots growing into pipes. Sometimes blockages are caused by structural problems like collapsed pipes or displaced joints - we'll identify this with our CCTV inspection.

How do I know if my drain is blocked?

The main signs are water draining slowly from sinks, baths, or showers, toilets not flushing properly or filling higher than usual, gurgling sounds from drains or pipes, bad smells coming from drains, and water pooling around external drain covers. If you're noticing any of these, it's worth getting the drain checked before a partial blockage becomes a complete one.

Who is responsible for unblocking a drain?

If the drain is within your property boundary and serves only your property, it's your responsibility. If the drain is shared with neighbours or connects to the public sewer outside your boundary, it's usually the water company's responsibility. Can I unblock a drain myself?
